Classic Debussy, a recent work of Egan Franke, rhythmic energy of Bohuslav Martinu, and the jazz inspirations of André Previn highlight this varied evening of ensemble works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Nemanja and Haruka Ostojić feature music of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, the Fantasia, Op. 145. Thweatt and Susan Chan welcome guest Wendy Muston for Debussy’s evocative Sonata for flute, viola and harp, followed by Egan Franke’s “SoD” for the same imaginative combination. The evening opens with Martinu’s Three Madrigals for violin and viola and concludes with the lively 1994 Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano by André Previn.
