Linh Nguyen is a graphic designer and educator currently teaching at the University of Southern Mississippi. Before committing full-time to academia, she worked as a professional graphic designer in Mobile, Alabama, designing work for Canon, Nikon, Sprint, Samsung, Dillards, and Ruby Tuesday.
Currently, she is creating work that explores the relationships of fusing graphic design with other art disciplines. She focuses on merging two-dimensional with three-dimensional designs, integrating traditional and non-traditional methodologies, and combining human experiences into the building process. Her artwork has been exhibited in Mobile, Alabama, Houston, Texas, Boston, Massachusetts, Pensacola, Florida, Chicago, Illinois, Laguna Beach, California, Palm Springs, California, and Hattiesburg, Mississippi. In 2017, her three-dimensional, free-standing Origami typeface design was selected to be presented at TypeCon National Conference, held in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2020, her three-dimensional design, a commentary on the design building process experience, won an Honorable Mention in an international art competition in Palm Springs, California.
Nguyen received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Houston.
