Exuberant Beethoven, a recent film score by John Berners, and duo works from Japan and Sweden highlight this varied evening. Berners’ 2017 music for “Frankenstein” was written to accompany the original Edison Company film of 1910. Tamara Thweatt and Nemanja Ostojić feature Toru Takemitsu’s evocative “Toward the Sea” followed by Wolfgang Plagge’s “Litany for the 21st Century” performed by Darin and Rebecca Sorley. Joana Genova and Richard Ratliff open the program with energetic Beethoven of the 1790s: the Sonata in A Major, Op. 12, No. 2.
