In 1978, James MacGregor Burns admitted that “leadership is the one of the most observed and least understood phenomena on earth.” After more than forty years of continued fascination and obsession with leadership ― it continued to be most observed and least understood ― until now! Much more insightful and disarming was Burns’ admonishment that we know far too much about leaders and far too little about leadership. His prescient distinction boldly confirmed nearly a half-century ago what we commonly understand today ― leadership and leader are not synonymous.
The Institute for Postindustrial Leadership Inaugural Symposium & Conference is unique in that our sole mission is to help usher in the post-industrial paradigm of leadership. We are conscious of the fact that the traditional leadership academic establishment and commercial complex do not share our devotion to this humble mission.
If you are dissatisfied with the conventional study of leadership and frustrated with the field of leadership development, register to attend our inaugural virtual Symposium & Conference. This event merges the academic with the practitioner domains. We believe that bringing together both of these domains will create a unique and interesting event that stimulates curiosity in the diversity of thought and generates the interest and intensity to close the traditional academic-practitioner gap.
This Symposium & Conference is an invitation to all who are seeking to understand the true nature of leadership and to gain profound knowledge in pursuit of the postindustrial paradigm. It is dedicated to those leadership pioneers be they scholars, practitioners, professionals, or students who are committed to redefining, reconceptualizing, revolutionizing, and reviving leadership and Ushering in the Postindustrial Paradigm of Leadership for the 21 st Century.
