Strata: Light, Sound, Sculpture by Owens and Crawley

August 28, 2017 - September 29, 2017

August 28-September 29, 2017
Reception: 4-6 p.m., August 28

Quincy Owens received both his BFA in Studio Art and Master of Arts in Teaching from University of Indianapolis. Luke Crawley received both his BS in Religious Studies and Master of Arts in Physics from Ball State University.

The collaborative artist team of Owens + Crawley explores the term “strata” in their newest body of work. The word strata is referenced through all of the sciences as it pertains to the concept of layers. Owens + Crawley are known to incorporate sounds, light and material into sculpture, public art and installation-based projects. In this exhibition they will be continuing their use of solid and ethereal materials within a gallery context with the intention of exploring permanence, impermanence, repetition and juxtaposition.

Located in UIndy’s Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center, the gallery is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays.
